During the early 1950s (ca 1951-1956) ceramics supplemented the Totten family income.  The ceramics sold well, but the location of only a very few are known; occasionally, they are found in estate sales, flea markets or online. Don continued to paint during this period and eventually decided that painting was how he wanted to focus his creative efforts.
